Ally grew up in Ardmore among the rural backdrop of South Auckland. Living among the trees with three generations of family history in horticulture. Most of her childhood was spent outside playing with her horses & farm animals, or out & about representing the region in a few sports…….but she always loved the connection with the plant world and its gifts of healing it brings us.
Upon leaving High School she headed to Otago University to complete a degree based on the human body, with most papers in the subject of Neurophysiology & Cellular Biology, she graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science in Functional Biology. Still with an avid thirst for learning and expanding her academia she completed a Bachelor of Chiropractic with Post Graduate Papers in Applied Kinesiology & Microbiology.
With over a decade been in practice, and 18 years of combining scientific academia and developing skills in natural healing practices, she has tools that she uses in practice such as Applied Kinesiology, Chiropractic, Functional Medicine Protocols, Neuro-Emotional Technique, Bach Flower Remedies, Tapping & some tools from Energy Medicine.
Life has also served Ally some pretty interesting health experiences all which have given her a more grounded approach to individualised healthcare. A serious concussion, a broken leg with a blood clot from playing rugby, then two years ago an autoimmune skin disorder that forced her to look deep within her self. This is when her Cellular Biology (Epigenetics) background came in handy as she starting looking into the research around stored trauma in the body & cell danger responses that disrupt immune and lymphatic system regulation, and how these then change our body & minds ability to be in homeostasis.
Like all challenges they change our direction and it has led her to a place where she now stands among the Medella Health Research Team. An environment where her insatiable desire for knowledge will be pursued with research in the lab looking at the cellular responses of the body from the FLOWpresso and work towards her thesis. As well as time in the Aetiology Clinic helping individuals with chronic conditions, autoimmune disorders, pain, PTSD, anxiety, depression and hormonal issues.
She looks forward to integrating her healing modalities with the FLOWpresso and what she attains in the research lab. Self healing is something we all have within us, every cell has the wisdom to heal, sometimes we just need a little help to reignite it and she is here to help those physically, chemically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually gain charge of that self healing once again.
